Other members include Greek hidrós, Latin sūdor (source of English exude [16]), Welsh chwys, Latvian sviēdri, and Sanskrit svédas. Amongst its Germanic descendants was *swaitjan, which evolved into German schweissen ‘weld’, Dutch zweeten ‘sweat’, and English sweat.
